The idea for Santa Lomas was born in South Africa in 2019. Strolling between antique market stalls and meeting with historic jewellery businesses, I realised the importance of the materials used in jewellery. Natural, fine, and durable components combine to make pieces last for centuries without losing their desirability, appearance, or reselling power.

After that, I decided to leave my job in finance to focus on gemmology and jewellery and qualified as a certified Diamond and Coloured Gemstones Expert. One thing my mentor and teacher reinforced was the need to look at as many stones as I can, and to be curious, in order to develop an expert eye. That’s one of the reasons that I started to travel before setting up the business – to expose myself to as many stones and styles as possible as well as building my connections in the industry.”

Today Santa Lomas is a UK registered company based in Mayfair, London. We specialise in sourcing coloured gemstones, which we source directly from mines in Africa (and have cut by our craftsmen in Thailand), as well as diamonds from the world’s leading suppliers. We also sell pre-owned jewellery as well as our own bespoke designs.
